Los Angeles Valley College Astronomy Group
The Los Angeles Valley College Astronomy Group is a group of astronomy enthusiasts. We conduct several events each month, and students as well as the public are welcome to attend.
Joining the Los Angeles Valley College Astronomy Group is easy. You may join at one of our Sunday Meetings and the cost is $15 per year.
These events include
Planetarium Shows (utilizing Los Angeles Valley College's Astronomy Department's planetarium featuring the Spitz™ SkyDome projector),
Star parties (at various "dark sky" locations near Los Angeles's San Fernando Valley), and
Group Meetings featuring guest speakers (some from JPL and involving current planetary missions).
Sky Events for this Month
20 February - Lunar Eclipse in the eastern sky at moonrise. Look for the Planet Saturn about 4 degrees below the Moon. Join us at the LAVC Planetarium at 5:30 p.m. for eclipse viewing.
